Traveling Light

Whether you are on a 3-day trip or a 3 week trip, packing light will always save you time and money at the airport. For example, packing cubes, rolling your clothes or even wearing your heaviest or bulkiest clothes and shoes on the plane to your destination can make the difference. Everything is so expensive these days so saving and conserving is paramount. 👆🏽

I highly recommend TSA PreCheck because it usually is much quicker and you do not have to take off your shoes, which can be a hassle, when going through security which saves you time. Checking in a bag, especially if you are not a rewards member, certain credit card holder or even active-duty military can range up to $50 of more! When boarding with a carry-on or even a book bag, sometimes it could be around $30 and up, but your book bag counts as a personal item if it can fit under the seat. 🛄

Tip #1: Bring your own snacks! 🍬 Airport food is ridiculously expensive so makes sure you bring your own food. I do not recommend trying to sneak and alcohol or drugs on any commercial or even private plane are you can be subjected to federal and criminal fines that can put you on the "no-fly list," permanently. 🥃❌ 🚬

Tip #2: Travel size items! Leave your full-size containers at home. Airlines have certain ounces that liquids can be, and some liquids may be banned altogether. Amazon will be your best friend when it comes to travel size plastic bottles and carry-on TSA approved flying gear. ✈️

First class or even business class is the way to go especially if your flight is over 3 hours. Certain credit cards have reward programs that will allow you to fly in upgraded capacities and even have excess to their lounges before you fly and in-between layovers. 😎

Window seats in my opinion are the best especially if you are just before the wing or even behind it a bit. I personally never cared to be stuck in the middle of two people and the aisle is just no fun whatsoever unless you are just an aisle person. 😄

This summer particularly I will be traveling to the great city of New York 🗽 for 4 days. I will also go to two new countries I have never seen before, Belize 🇧🇿 for 10 days and Spain 🇪🇸 for 11 days! As the school year winds down, I am preparing myself for these well-needed adventures to explore. On all trips I will be packing a carry-on and will make sure I am sitting at a window seat. Does 2023 look like a year of travel for you? Where will you travel to next? 🌍
