Welcome in Greek. This story begins on my venture to Athens. When I tell you I did not know what to expect when it came to Athens I was blown away! I was on the search for Hercules and was saddened to realize I live in the real world. *SIGHS* Anyway, what do you think of when you think of Greece? For me, I think of tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, pita, olive oil and garlic. 🍅

Day 1 started at with a guided tour to the Parthenon. The Parthenon is at the top of a hill and can be seen from pretty much roof top or high ground area in Athens. All the artifacts seen were over 2,500 years old! It was literally the coolest thing ever! I could not believe what I was seeing and most of the original architecture is gone. I stayed in The Novotel Hotel and from the rooftop we could see the landmark as it glowed atop the hill in the beautiful sunset. 🌅

Athens is unlike anything I have ever seen in my life! Landscape was breath-taking and the blue skies. The sun scorched as the day went on and we made our trek to the most infamous site. Another important thing to note is having sunscreen and staying hydrated. 💦

Day 2 started with a Greek breakfast which included a variety of breads, pastries, fruits, and you guessed it, Greek yogurt! Another guided tour through the ancient city to the city square where there were countless shops, vender and street food alike. Stares from the locals and smiling outbursts in greek I could not understand, although I just smiled. 😀

Day 3 was a free day with my fellow travelers and we spend a day on the rooftop at the pool, and across the street there was a pizza shop that was absolutely delicious! Greek cuisines consists of cheese, fruit, bread, and wine! 🍷

I went on this trip with one person I actually knew and there were 33 or so other people from various states and Canada on this trip. I did not know a single other person before I came, but by the end of the trip most of us could not see to part from one another so much so that another trip was planned soon after to Ibiza, taking place this June, just because we knew we would all miss each other so much! I won't be on that trip but periodically we still keep up with one another! ❤️
